Scott Mathieson
Photography
I spent ages trying to write a compelling introduction. I finally nailed it and something glitched and it didn’t save. So now – I am just going to throw something out there.
I am a photographer. I love it. Emotionally I range from a conservative Brit to a little bit random and Jack Sparrow-ish. Kind of depends on the day. Shoots are fun. I have a lot of patience. I like to explore and try ideas out. Being comfortable in my space is important and I have been at it for 20 years so getting great shots is never in question.
If you like my photographs, then you will love my shoots. If you are nervous in front of a camera or just hate having your photos taken, I can work with that too.
If you want to give me call that is always a good place to start.

I put my details in to ChatGPT and this is what is popped out:
We use professional-grade cameras, lenses, and lighting equipment to ensure the highest quality images possible. Our gear is selected to fit the specific needs of each shoot, from wide-angle lenses for property photography to portrait lenses for capturing the perfect headshot.
Translated back to human, I use a Nikon D850 with a range of sexy lenses. I have lights and backdrops and all that stuff that cost me a small fortune, but helps me get beautiful photos.
The turnaround time for photos depends on the type of shoot. Typically, you can expect to receive your edited images within 7–10 working days. For real estate photography, I strive for a quicker turnaround to meet the urgency of listing deadlines.
Absolutely! I want you to be thrilled with your photos, not just almost happy. If something needs to be adjusted in post processing I will get it fixed.
Yes, I offer high-quality prints of your photos, available in various sizes and formats. I can also help with framing or creating photo albums if you’re interested but just dont have the time or inclination to do it personally.
Booking a session is simple! Just reach out via phone or email. Once I have your details and the type of shoot you need, I will probably give you a good old fashioned phone call to kick things off.
Yeah sure. I have done 9 hour flights for a shoot and I have also done a 90 second walk to a shoot. If the shoot is further then 40 minutes drive, I will factor in the cost in your quote. Travel fees may apply depending on the distance and the location.
Research. Find a bunch of photos you like. We are not talking about exact photos to replicate, but just photos you like the vibe of, or the pose, or the lighting etc. This gives us a good platform to create from. Pinterest can be a great resource for this.
The second thing I would say is bring accessories. A lot of people come with a load of outfits, but often forget to accessorise. Sometimes a hat or a pair of sunglasses or a random prop can completely change a photo.
If the weather is just against us, then we can always reschedule. If we can’t reschedule then we can always just embrace it and get soaked.
I am not a dick. Plans can change. Life is not always in favour of your itinerary. If you need to cancel or reschedule your shoot, please try to give me at least a weeks notice to avoid cancellation fees. If the notice is less then 48 hours, a fee may apply depending on the situation.
